Lee Jeffries

Portraits that Jeffries has taken has had such an impact of people, it makes them think, makes them look twice. His work is bold and beautiful and you can find so much meaning behind the images. Jeffries has done his work to honour these people and not to look down on them, he does this by giving their similarities a greater meaning. He makes them look and seem like more than they may be; giving them bright eyes and doing close ups of them so that you can't help but stare into their beautiful eyes. I want my images to have that effect; staring at them because it’s such a beautiful image. Here are a few of his images.

Laura Pannack

Pannack's work is quite basic-looking but it has that effect so that if the model is looking directly at the camera, it automatically draws you to their face. The couples bodys are working as one, one sculpture, you pose. These images that Laura has created are very still and strong, the poses included. Thats what I want to interpret into my work, the strength of the model and the way it effects the viewer.

David Bailey

Bailey uses high key, whereas I am going to be using low key; his back grounds are white, whereas mine is black. He photographs a lot of famous people, he makes them striking yet elegantly beautiful. I like the way he doesn't use colour, because black and white is more calm and beautiful.
